Introduction to the MFLI Lock-in Amplifier:
The MFLI is a digital lock-in amplifier that sets a new benchmark for measurements in the medium and low frequency ranges.
MFLI offers two versions, suitable for frequency ranges of "DC to 500 kHz" and "DC to 5 MHz" (with the option to upgrade from 500 kHz to 5 MHz when needed). With a carefully developed analog and digital front end combined with an FPGA, the instrument features high-speed digital signal processing capabilities.
Applications of the MFLI Lock-in Amplifier:
Optical chopper applications
Pulsed laser applications (such as high-energy lasers)
Materials research
Quantum nanoelectronics
Scanning tunneling microscopy
Cryogenic physics
Four-terminal detection
Seismic measurements

Front Panel Interfaces
The front panel of the MFLI includes 1 current signal input, 1 differential voltage input, 1 differential signal output, 2 auxiliary inputs that can serve as reference inputs, and 4 auxiliary outputs. Signal inputs and outputs can be configured in either single-ended or differential mode to meet the anti-interference requirements of experiments. Signal grounding can be instrument ground or the BNC shield layer of the signal input.
Rear Panel Interfaces
The rear panel provides additional BNC interfaces, including 2 trigger inputs, 2 trigger outputs, and 1 input and 1 output for a 10 MHz synchronization clock. It also features an SCSI interface for accessing all DIO channels. The instrument can be powered by standard 90-240 V AC or an external 12V DC power source (such as an external battery pack), which helps eliminate ground loops.
Voltage and Current Measurements
The instrument supports voltage or current measurements as standard. Simultaneous current and voltage measurements require the MF-MD multi-demodulator option. The analog front end features variable input impedance, AC/DC coupling options, and high-frequency oversampling technology to ensure superior lock-in performance and high-fidelity oscilloscope functionality.
Output Channels
The results of lock-in measurements (X, Y, R, and Θ for each demodulator) can be utilized in the following ways:
Any of the 4 auxiliary analog outputs on the front panel can be individually scaled and offset. A sampling rate of 612 kSa/s ensures that all demodulated signal components are reliably available at the interface. All signals have a consistent bandwidth of up to 200 kHz.
Data can be transmitted to a host via USB 2.0 or 1 GbE and displayed on the LabOne® user interface. Signals can be analyzed using any LabOne tool or stored locally with just a few clicks.
The instrument provides 2 USB ports, both of which allow data to be saved on USB storage devices.
